Garuda Padang @ Orchard Central (Closed)

Garuda Padang has been one of my fave Indonesian restaurants here. The food are relatively felt authentic but in a more refined presentation and ingredients, albeit a slight different names here than the original version.

With a more to upscale restaurant setting in an accessible mall, it is one of a good venue to have lunch with colleague or buddy, not too fine dining but also not a so 'family' oriented venue.

I couldn't get enough of their Bumbu Goreng Chicken especially combined with the cooked Tapioca Leaves, Daun Singkong/Gulai Daun Singkong and the white rice...

For drinks, I would go for their Aloe Vera Honey which is cool and refreshing, a heavier one and for those who wants to taste Indonesian Avocado Juice style, give a try on the Avocado Juice. This time, I went with the Fresh Coconut which still served chill in the shell, it was a good young coconut. But, for me, it will not be enough so I ordered a glass of ice water which was not free, it is S$0.30 cents/glass.

If you want to avoid the crowd at Orchard with affordable good food, try Garuda at Orchard Central or if you are in Vivocity, go to the basement. Although, they may have full house too, sometimes.

The dominated white fixtures in Garuda
View to entrance
Glass separator for private area
It's the high ceiling that gave abundance of natural lights, there is also alfresco area

The Perkedel
The Fried Egg
The Fried Dory Fish with its chilli sauce, not too spicy..
The Ayam Goreng Bumbu that I can't get enough...It was always fried perfectly, nothing raw and it is tender
The Avocado Juice with Chocolate Condensed Milk, which not common to get in Singapore, the chocolate condensed milk, that is
The Fresh Young Coconut...
