Old Hongkong Kitchen @ Square 2

Was on the craving for dim sum while being in an unfamiliar territory around Novena. Recalled of seeing this HK restaurant and voila, there was dim sum in the menu.

We came in slightly early than lunch time, glad we did that, as by lunch time ticking down, corporate crowd streaming in to fill up the tables.

The menu was extensive, from dim sum to ala carte Chinese - HK cooking menu. It certainly meet the corporate and family expectation for this type of restaurant.

Staff were prompt and you would see more of senior staff in this establishment which is always a plus point in my opinion.

Food was served promptly in sequence, even though, it was during peak hour serving. Dishes were delicious and just in the right portion.

A must-try in this restaurant was their Carrot Cake, I was not usually a fan but I fell in love with their carrot cake. It had balanced flavour, good portion for sharing and you could tell the ingredients used were fresh.

Dining here was certainly reminded you of dining in HK, where service and food serving was done promptly in a busy venue.

A good Chinese restaurant in Novena area for corporate or family dining in.

Always love seeing a pretty table ware like this

Wish this outstanding traditional Chinese dress was displayed in more prominent area

Like this wall ornaments décor, clever idea

Tin Lung Heen

Was so excited to go to Hongkong and thinking about the Must Have Meal which was Dim Sum.

Decided to try Ting Lung Heen; the Cantonese  restaurant at Ritz Carlton Hongkong located at 102 floor. When I read the '102' floor, I was trying to imagine how it would felt like dining in such high floor.

Turned out the Ritz Carlton Hongkong at Kowloon side was opened 2 years ago, adjacent to ICC - International Commerce Centre and Elements Shopping Mall which also next to W Hongkong hotel.

Walking up from ICC landed us on 9th floor of the building, which was not the Reception Lobby, just the Arrival Lobby (as I called it) and we needed to take elevator up to 103 floor (oh my gosh!) which was the Reception Lobby and down by elevator to restaurants level at 102 floor.

Going through a trip to 103 floor certainly left a deep impression for the beginning of your stay or your visit to this hotel. The view from the 102 floor lounge was magnificent. Because of the height of this building and its location, W Hongkong hotel view was blocked by this building and by seeing this view from the lounge, I could understand why these 2 hotels vying to have this location, too bad W HK was 3 years older.

I was very happy about my choice of Tin Lung Heen for our authentic Dim Sum experience and we couldn't found any fault; from the get go of our arrival to end of our meal.

We arrived earlier few minutes than opening hour and the staff courteously asked us to sit at the lounge while they did the final preparation and gave us the menu to browse through.

Called up exactly at 12 pm and brought in for our table which by the window. I'd say Tin Lung Heen was the first I encountered with a very concise dim sum menu however it reflected that they had chosen the best dim sum selection.

The décor was modern with emphasized on its  beautiful lightings hanging from its high ceiling which could be seen from the reception floor. Surprisingly or perhaps I didn't know about the custom, the restaurant was full for lunch.

The setting of everything reflected how a fine dining should be, from table settings, the cutleries, the dish presentation and most important of all, their impeccable service standard and delicious dim sum dishes.

A trip to the restaurant restroom should be made, not only it was elegant but you would have a chance to see the glass artwork along the corridor passage near the bathroom entrance. It was mesmerizing...

Even though it is a very competitive business for dim sum restaurant in HK, I believe Ting Lung Heen will stay popular and one of the restaurants to beat.

Love to return here and I think for those staying in HK, it is a great place to impress any guest whom wants to sample authentic dim sum meal.
Elegant pot and flower decoration on our table

The elegant table setting and menu

First encounter with 2 sets of chopstick but again, it showcased how elegant this restaurant was

The modern décor yet still very much reflects the Oriental touch

Nice chandelier

This caramelized walnut coated with white sesame was heavenly. Inspired me to find out how we can reproduce it.

The very well thought furniture, by having a 'pull' behind these leather chairs... Loved it!
They have these small stool to put your bag.. Don't you always love a very put up together and thoughtful restaurant or place?
Crispy Roasted Pork Belly
Well, not much of my fave but I decided to order it as mstandard of how good the dishes would be. And I didn't regret it a single bit! It was very good indeed

Pork wonton with ginger and spring onions
Was delicious!

Deep Fried Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Conpoy
I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this but was intrigued as not familiar. It was very good! Though crispy on the outside but the conpoy filling was soft and was not dry at all
The Shrimp Dumpling or Har Gauw
It was more than 4 pcs! What a surprise to my fave dish
It was just so pretty with touch of gold leaf! Fantastic Taste too!

Steamed Crab Meat Dumpling with Conpoy and Cabbage
It was very delicate looking; the dumplings were soft yet the skin dumpling was firm and didn't break easily when you scooped it out and bit it. It was tasty!

Char Siew Bun
The usual suspect in every yumcha you have and this version didn't disappoint either.
The buns were soft and fluffy and the filling was very tasty
My dessert of Double-boiled milk custard with ginger and bird’s nest
So simple and elegant looking, loving this dessert!
Chilled milk jelly with black truffle
Another elegant dessert; a Must-Order for Truffle lovers. Not often you find this dessert combo

Complimentary cookies and white chocolate to clear off your palate
Pretty looking with plate colour contrast in Red after all the whites we saw
